There is suddenly and unexpectedly an unprecedented increase in flooding around Old Fangak. It started raining like crazy. Thousands of people have had to evacuate to the North. Not again! Lake Victoria, the source of the river, recently reached its highest level in 128 years. Flood gates were opened three months ago to control its water level. It rose anyway. Climate change? Too much development around the lake? Those downriver, facing more wet, hungry and uncertain days, can only ask WHAT TO DO?!. Read more
We keep thinking that, one day, we will report to you that the harvest has come in. Maybe one day South Sudan’s displaced people will find their forever homes, and harvest their own food. Our staff continues to gain skills and formal
credentials, strengthening our team and improving the health care we can provide.
