Our Mission
The mission of Crosscurrents is to build a more peaceful, less violent, world.
Citizen diplomacy is the core “tool” of Crosscurrents —bringing people together across artificial boundaries of cultures, nations, religions, politics. How can we expect a more peaceful world until people learn to know each other, listen to each other, learn from each other, respect each other? How can this happen until people meet each other, build friendships, talk with each other.

Let us hear from you. What are your interests?
We have limited volunteer opportunities for work in the medical field in South Sudan, for work with youth programs in Kenya, for peace exchange programs with International Network of Museums for Peace in Japan. We have sponsored many international “citizen diplomacy” travel programs over the years and invite people to apply to join the groups.
We welcome people to become involved with Crosscurrents. Let us hear from you.
What We Do
Crosscurrents is in the “Education Business”. It sponsors programs that help people have a greater awareness of other countries, cultures, religions, political and economic systems. We seek to build awareness that we all live on this “small”, fragile planet whirling through space. We are all neighbors. All travel on our small planet is really within our “local neighborhood.” We cannot grasp the immensity of our universe!
Examples of projects include:
- Citizen diplomacy in different countries

- Maji Mazuri Center in Nairobi, Kenya
