Maji Mazuri 2022 Areas of Need

Despite numerous achievements achieved in our programs, we continue to face different challenges in our day to day work.

  • The new government policy on basic education framework under the new competency based curriculum (CBC) which requires Junior secondary schools to be domiciled in the existing primary schools requires every primary school to establish a Junior secondary school. This requirement expects us to establish a junior secondary school connected to Headstart school to accommodate our transitioning grade 6 pupils. The establishment of Junior secondary school and its facilities requires considerable resources within a short period of time.

  • The number of pupils at Headstart school continues to grow beyond the capacity of the current facility. There is an urgent need to put up a permanent school facility to create more space for pupils and a better learning environment for all pupils.

  • The microfinance program loans requests keep growing. This creates a need for financial support to have a reliable pool of funds to timely support members on their loan requests.

  • Our ICT training Centre receives a huge number of youth every year who want to join the training but due to limited number of computer machines, only 40 youth are recruited per intake locking the rest out of this opportunity. This program needs more computer machines with capacity to handle modern software used in graphics designs and programming. Strengthening the capacity of this program will open more opportunities for deserving youth.

  • Our senior youth program focuses on equipping youth with technical and vocational skills as well as entrepreneurial skills to help them connect with existing job opportunities or create their own meaningful employment opportunities. There is a need for a scholarship fund to support its members in undertaking these training sessions. The program also needs professional volunteers to mentor its members.

Despite limited resources and several challenges, we proudly celebrate the numerous achievements and success realized through our programs in 2022 in making a difference in the lives of many people that we serve. This could not have been achieved without your generous support as well-wishers, partners and volunteers. We sincerely appreciate your support and friendship and look forward to achieving more together in 2023 and beyond. You will always remain in our heart. THANK YOU.
